Race drivers always seek for the duality of physics: He/she wants traction. And Rotation. A good front end and a good rear. The truth is: It's all always there, but what the driver is unhappy with is laptime and corner speed. Always. The Lexus then doesn't have the best of front ends, but it has good electronics that allow you do work the rear on throttle and work around the limitations of the front. At the same time its not a snappy or slidey rear, it just about bites into the tarmac, takes some excess load from the front and suddenly the car rotates nicely around the bends - while blasting that beautiful piece of a soon-to-be-history V8 that sounds even better off throttle than on it.
Here's a great Q set and a buttery smooth Race setup!
Electronics:
TC on 2 for Q and potentially 3 for the Race feels best for me as the car allows you to actually work with the rear on throttle
Adjustments (you dont actually need any imo)
- stiffen front spring if t1 braking is an issue.
- move BB forward if too loose into t1 or spoon - however you need it backwards to stop the car, brakes are not great.
- try higher ABS for more predictability during harsh braking
- adjust rear ride height for over/understeer
Driving
- entry into the esses is crucial, try to live with minimal brake inputs to load the front up carefully
- rotate car on throttle past the apex to pin it to the inside - not as good as the aston but still great in this car!
- aim for late apex in hairpins, try to trail deep, immediate but progressive throttle, no coasting in tight corners, patience in longer corners. early power is very crucial to work the diff and unload the front
LFM:
Just reduce fuel load to 45/49L. Balance should become even more neutral. Adjust rear ride height +-1mm to your liking. Most likely up by 1mm for medium fuel loads.
