April 19th 2023 - Patch 1.9.0
Sorry I haven't posted in a long time!
Welcome to 1.9, Nils already took care of this car at Kyalami so I took the liberty of approaching this combo. Although the general game physics have made cars typically better over curbs, the Zolder chicane (as far I've found in the short time we've had!), you unfortunately can't attack the chicane anywhere near the same way as before, every car will go 1.8 488 spec if you are willing to try, so I haven't set this up to try it. This car is a riot anywhere and everywhere regardless, so enjoy it!
Completely unsure what the outright pace is capable of with this all being fresh, so here's hoping it's a good reference for you all to learn from.
Notes:
- NO CHICANE YEETING; go through the middle without attacking the curbs
- Some light throttle use through the second chicane is ideal to keep the car in check and avoiding a pendulum effect
- Move BB forward for an easier driving experience, though it'll hurt in the last sector, mainly the hairpin and may need higher ABS to compensate on front axle
- Ride height (particularly on the race set) could be reduced at the rear as well for stability
- Earlier turn ins for the middle sector than you are used to on 1.8 are necessary to make some corners
- It is difficult to retain front tire temperature, more front toe could be used for quali if it works well for you
I'm still doing what I can to learn this patch, so maybe don't expect the world here, but if you have any questions feel free to DM me on discord!
