April 20th 2023 - Patch 1.9.0
Hello! My name is Skyler Loverink.
OVERVIEW
With update 1.9 being brand new, we're all looking for the edge on the competition early on. Here is a setup I've put many hours into for COTA. The setup feels really quick yet very drivable/stable. The 296 feels planted at COTA (similar to the 488). With this setup, you can use the curbing on the left of turn 10 unlike the Ferrari predecessor the 488 GT3 Evo. I was shooting for 27.0-27.2 for left pressures by the time I hit turn 16-18. You can move the brake bias from 54.8 to 51-52 in turn 11 and 12 if you want a little extra braking performance.
RACE SETUP OVERVIEW/TIPS
The race setup is set up to be sparing on tires. If you find you're spinning the rear tires too much, drop the rear ride height 1-2 clicks. Raising traction control by a click or two will also help save the rear tires over the stint (reccomended TC settings below). This setup has enough fuel for a 65 min stint. The 296 GT3 is extremely fuel efficient even compared to the 488 GT3 Evo which was already excellent on fuel efficiency. I was using 2.92L per lap on race fuel, which means the 100L in the race setup is a safe fuel load for a 65 minute stint. You may be able to get away with 94-97 liters if you're finding you have 1-2 laps of fuel remaining after a 65 minute stint.
