Porsche 992 GT3 Cup Data & Setup Pack for Mount Panorama/Bathurst.
Approach
The target is a reliable rear end that will not surprise you and let you know before it lets go. A general issue of the Porsche is too cold fronts and too hot rears. Both will be much better with this setup. The setup is operating without any negative toe and thus gives much more consistent driving behavior than typical eSpOrTs Setups.
Mount Panorama
Usually the track is quite bumpy in the cup, but making the right sacrifices tames the car and makes the entire ride smoother. There should be plenty of traction and you can be aggressive on the brake without having to fear the rear end coming around. Most of the time you can just slam the throttle and the rear will stick.
Driving
Make sure to watch my lap. There are a few key elements to navigate around this track:
- turn 6, the normally flat out right hander up the hill needs a tiny lift - but really only a tiny one to get the car to turn. You can take the inside kerb without bouncing which will allow higher exit speeds
- the fast left handers afterwards need the same approach: just about enough of a lift to get the car rotating, but do not lift completely. It's not about speed, much more about opening the differential
- over the crest into the downhill section do not go too wide as there is a huge bump. Be easy with the car and don't force it around (less throttle, less steering, almost just cruising), it will thank you with a much more controllable braking zone down the hill.
Adjustments
There is rotation to gain by adding more front camber or more rake.
More oversteer (general/mid turn/exit):
- more front camber
- more rake
- less wing (not a good idea though)
More oversteer (brake/entry):
- reduce brake bias (not advised for the stint, as it wears the rears more under braking)
More understeer
- higher front ride height
- even less front camber
- one extra click of rear wing
Race
The setup should start off rather stable and slowly get more oversteery throughout the stint. The fuel is set for the full hour including formation lap.
