Below you can find an overview on the driving approach on Le Mans, filled with tips and details, aligned together with telemetry and onboard data, hopefully improve your driving on this legendary track! Enjoy :)

General Driving Tips

  • Dunlop T1-T3: Try to be patient with braking and steering, and make sure you priortize car rotation on throttle from T2-T3 to maximize corner exit

  • Esses: Keep as tight as possible in the corner entry and left-hand side corner, but avoid fully going over the curbs, so you dont lose momentum

  • Tertre Rouge: Important to maximize the track by going over the left curb to attack the corner carrying good minimum speed (avoid going over drainage after exit curb so you dont get off-track)

  • 2nd Chicane: Again, important to use all track by going close to the grass before braking to carry better minimum speed, and have better angle to tackle first leg of the chicane (dip tires over the curb both corners to help rotate the car) 

  • 3rd Chicane: Same approach as 2nd Chicane

  • Mulsanne: Deep braking when the right curb starts, aim for a wider angle so you can setup better exit speed for Indy straight

  • Indianapolis: Set the corner entry on the green paint, with smooth (and slight) braking application avoid attacking over the right curb (surface is uneven), and keep the car on the right side close to the curb to setup deep corner entry as it is cambered, smooth throttle application so you don't understeer into the gravel 

  • Arnage: Middle of the car on the red paint, so you brake over the curb and have better angle to attack inside curb and better position towards corner exit

  • Porsche Pt.1: Easy section to take unnecessary risks, so be precise. Smooth braking and steering to help point the car into this high speed right corner, drive around the yellow line (don't attack curbs upfront, as it bounces off the ideal line) Key to be smooth on throttle and steering, so you can be tight around carrying momentum.

  • Porsche Pt.2: Approach is similar to Porsche pt1, but on the final right and left handers, its important to be very tight following the right line to point the car correctly towards exit to last chicanes

  • Ford Chicanes: Avoid braking too late and too wide (before the pit-entry curb), so you can manage the chicanes keeping momentum and setting a good exit towards the Start/Finish Line
