Porsche is tail happy around Monza, especially from corner entry to apex. That being said, it is competitive in Monza, and feels good to drive around there. This datapack aims to help you achieve better laptimes and driving techniques, aligned together with telemetry and my onboard video! Enjoy :)
General Driving Tips
-
T1-2 (Rettifilo): Late/long threshold braking just before the 100m board, maximizing track speed. Porsche gets away hitting the first turtle curb, it helps rotating the car to T2 and set exit towards Curva Grande
-
T4-5 (Della Roggia): Long threshold braking just when grass starts again before 100m board, keep it straight just before aiming on the turtle curb on the first leg of the chicane, throttle control is key rolling over both curbs focusing on rotation and exit towards Lesmo
-
T6-7 (Lesmo 1-2): Wide entry, brake just before orange paint on right rail, and trailbrake deep into the corner carrying speed and rotation, patience on throttle to not upset car going towards Lesmo 2, which consists on braking on 50m board, using all the track on corner entry, avoid going over the big curb, instead drive around it, and dont go further than over the top of exit curb, off-track awaits on those boundaries.
-
T8-10 (Ascari): Trickiest corner complex on the track, I find important to brake at 100m in a diagonal line and having a square corner entry to avoid the bump that upsets the car very easily, whilst carrying speed over the curb with stable platorm. Negotiate the esses complex on throttle and dont attack the sausage bumps on the right-hand side too aggressively, the left hand exit curb is quite lenient so avoid going with 4 tires on it and you'll be fine, important to be quite neutral when attacking it to have good exit speed towards backstretch.
-
T11 (Parabolica): Threshold Brake on the flag marker before 50m, carrying high speed into the last corner, important to on throttle smoothly right after trailing deep around the right curb, so momentum is not lost into start/finish line
