Setup Notes
Quali setup runs more rake than race setup, which is faster, but makes it easier on worn tyres. If you are an advanced driver, feel free to go closer to quali setup rake in race trim too. Otherwise use preload to tune the car to your driving style:
Higher Preload = Less rotation on entry, more rotation on exit
Lower Preload = More rotation on entry, less rotation on exit
Corner By Corner Driving Guide
Big Bend (T1) - Car is dancing on the edge here! Try to make the corner as much 1 apex as you can. If you struggle with oversteer, you braked too late / too much. If you struggle with understeer, you went back to throttle too much / too early. Try to get most braking done before you enter the corner, then let the car roll with only minimum throttle applied through the middle. Stay away from inside curbs, they unsettle the car and cause wheel spin.
Esses - Entry is an easier version of T1. Use late downshift to 3rd gear to maintain rear grip for longer but still getting the car to the inside (2nd) apex. Once passed that, stay as much to the left as you can to open up the exit. You will have to lift once anyway, so don't pressure yourself to go 100% throttle before that lift happens.
Uphill Chicane - You have to be aggressive over the curbs, it will hurt in the arms after some time. The complex has many high curbs, where it is important to know that the track limit is stricter on the early curbs (1st apex), but the car will be unsettled more by later curbs (exit). The easiest way as always is: Slow in fast out, that gives you most chance to choose what curb you want to hit how much!
West Bend - Just a small tap on the brakes. Get as close to the inside curb as possible, but be aware touching it can unsettle the car. The closer you get to it without touching, the more the corner's camber helps you to turn the car. Again, things get easier the slower you go in!
Diving Turn - Even though it is faster, same principle applies here as in the West Bend. Brake early (as the slope ends) and hook the car as much into the inside camber without touching the curb as you can. You can feel the added grip very well if you get it right.
