Corner By Corner Driving Guide

IMPORTANT: Track limits on this track are set very badly. You can basically go as wide as you wish in T1, T8, T9, T10 and gain lap time. I tried to keep the abuse moderate in this data pack creation.

T1 - Brake between the 150m board and the flag display. Cut limits and curbs are no worry on inside nor outside. Taking the inside anti-cut as I did probably is a bit slower, but it makes the corner a bit easier to drive. Not a particular slow corner, but the exit still matters a lot, as time gain multiplies up the hill to T2/T3.

T3 - Use the first white line as braking point in the race, second white line in quali. Do not go to 1st gear, keep it in 2nd!. The bump on the exit will unsettle the rear. You can abuse that and let it give you a little rotation help (aka slide) in qualifying, but avoid it at all cost in the race, as it will induce too much temperature into the rear tyres.

T4 - This corner with this car is the perfect spot to practise your braking technique. Start braking hard at around 125m (between 150 and 100 board). Get all your downshifts done whilse still going straight, to avoid rear locking. Then release the brake pedal carefully. You want to be just on the edge of the front right tyre locking up (right side purple dash) and make the car rotate around it. Always hit the very inside of the apex. Corner is slightly banked, so if you are slightly off, it will induce plenty of understeer.

T6 - Brake just before the 50m board. Slow entry! You really want to keep hooking the inside for long here. Wait with going back on throttle even past what feels like the "apex". If you go on throttle too early, major understeer will kick in. If you maintain the very inside, the ever so lsight banking will help you rotating the car!

T7 - Brake just as the outside curb ends. The car naturally has a lot of understeer here, Don't fight it too hard, because if you do, the rear will snap. Just about touch the inside curb, which again helps rotation. Once you are past the apex, you can go back on throttle aggressively, as you are allowed to use all of the curb on exit.

T9 - Don't shift up to 6th before the corner. Brake at the flag display and use a controlled downshift to 4th to avoid any rear locking. There really is no track limits in this corner, so decide how much you want to abuse that.

T10 - You want to start braking before the austrian flag ends on the left hand side. Again, track limits through here are basically non existing. No matter how much you decide to abuse it, do not hit the inside yellow anti-cut too much. My recorded lap shows you the absolute furthest you should go to the inside before it will cost you balance and lap time.
